Set in 1994 Baku, the film modernizes Üzeyir Hacıbəyov’s musical comedy "O olmasın, bu olsun" by recasting Rustam Bey as an opposition figure who hopes to reclaim his lost office by courting wealthy businessman Ibka’s family. As in the original, a series of comic deceptions and mismatched identities ensue, though all the principal characters have been updated to fit the post-Soviet Azerbaijani context.

The unique and unusual brand of "outsider music" that Butch Willis & The Rocks created captivated the local music scene beginning with their appearance at the seminal Primitive Night in 1984. AMATEUR ON PLASTIC chronicles Butch's life and career from the beginning all the way through to present day. The film combines archival footage, interviews with Butch, and live performances. Stylistically, the film hovers between amateurish and avant- garde, much like Butch’s own music and career. Amateur on Plastic also parallels the 1990’s era of the seminal indie label Teen-Beat.
Roderick Usher is the last surviving male member of his family, living as a recluse in the ancestral home with his twin sister, Madeline. She is slowly dying of a disease for which her doctor seems unable or unwilling to find a cause or a cure. Roderick begs an old friend to visit. Shortly after the friend’s arrival, Madeline is found dead and is buried in a vault beneath the house. In an attempt to calm the increasingly distracted Roderick, his friend reads to him a medieval romance. As the climax of the tale is reached, the figure of Madeline appears—she has been buried alive and has clawed her way out of the vault to find her brother. Roderick is overcome by horror and as he and Madeline both confront death, the House of Usher collapses around them

Dr. Alvaro Cruz, a neuroscientist, disillusioned by the death of his mother and his inability to help her, finds redemption and reward by helping Una Vida, a jazz singer he discovers performing on the streets of New Orleans.
