In the First World War, when Paris is expected to fall to the Germans, the attractive widow, Princesse de Bormes, organises a convoy of cars to evacuate the wounded from the front, and bring them back to her villa in Paris to recuperate. The authorities will not give them passes until an innocent 16-year-old boy, Guillaume Thomas de Fontenoy, joins them and is mistaken as the nephew of the popular General de Fontenoy. The Princess is enraptured by Thomas and her daughter, Henriette, falls in love with him. However Thomas feels impelled to see more of the action of the war.

"Song about the mother." Working in distant Africa, pilots Igor and Victor once recorded on a tape recorder a song about his mother. Soon Igor dies during an epidemic. And Victor, in memory of his friend, gives his mother the tape they recorded. "Song at Dawn". Student Sergei dedicated to his favorite girl Valya composed by him "Song at Dawn". Valya then did not understand Sergei's feelings and married his friend. Sergei leaves. Years pass. Valya's personal life did not go well. And now she often remembers Sergei's sweet song.

During The Blitz, the British government had plans in place to evacuate approximately 3.5 million people, but only around 1.5 million left towns and cities for the countryside, with the majority of those being children. Children of the Blitz tells the stories of those who remained at home, often to help their families, or because their parents couldn’t bear to send them away. Through the eyes of survivors who were children at the time, the film will explore how The Blitz contributed towards our sense of national identity and how the ‘Blitz Spirit’ is still held up as a defining characteristic of Britishness today. The film will also examine the starker reality for children whose homes were destroyed, including those who lost parents, and some who were left to fend for themselves - many grew up with their stories unheard.
