It's a satirical comedy that chronicles 3 young Canadian film makers from Yellowknife as they travel from northern Canada to the middle east just as the Iraq war is erupting. As well as being very funny, it is also quite thought provoking. The trio travels through Canada, Turkey, Israel, Jordan and finally Washington DC interviewing "regular people" for their comments on the impending war. This film won best documentary at the 2003 Whistler Film Festival in Canada.
The year is 1943. Anna Petrova is a combat pilot who was seriously injured. She returned to the rear and works as a leading engineer at an aviation plant, where new Gyrfalcons aircraft are being prepared for testing. The plant's management, unaware of the consequences of her injury, instructs Anna, together with Major Zotov, to drive the prototype of the Gyrfalcon to the front. In addition to the desire to defeat the enemy and return home with a victory, Anna pursues a personal goal. She is determined to get even with Major Briggel, the German pilot who killed her lover.
In June 1941, the Extraordinary Defense Headquarters of Leningrad, under the leadership of Zhdanov and Voroshilov, decided to build the Luga defensive line. Heavy fighting west of Pskov forced units of the front to withdraw, and on July 9, Pskov was also abandoned. The battles in the Luga direction held back the enemy. The first attacks of the Germans, intending to cross the Luga line on the move, were repulsed with heavy losses for them.
