The programme, produced by the STV News department in Glasgow, was first broadcast in the 2009/10 season after a deal with the Celtic League Association, Scottish Rugby and STV was reached, following the closure of Setanta Sports in the UK. Magners League rugby returned to STV for the 2010/11 season, under the new name of Sports Centre: Rugby. The STV Rugby brand returned for the 2011/12 season, after Sports Centre was axed. The 2012/2013 season was the last to be covered by STV Rugby.
