Sword of Honour

Sword of Honour is a three-part miniseries produced as part of the anthology Theatre 625, and broadcast on BBC2, based on Evelyn Waugh's 1952–61 novels of the same name. It stars Edward Woodward as 35-year-old Englishman Guy Crouchback, who returns home from Italy at the start of WWII, determined to fight the good fight. Horrified by Nazi barbarism and emotionally shattered by a painful divorce, Crouchback eagerly accepts a post with the elite Royal Corps of Halberdiers.

The population of the Belarusian village of Lyubashi is partly fleeing with the troops, partly fleeing into the forest. The advancing Germans are also nearby. The battle rages, a continuous roar and the sound of exploding shells... And suddenly, all is quiet. The front has retreated further east.

The Zulu Wars

This series explores the facts and investigates the truth behind the British Redcoat Army's campaign in Zululand during 1879. The war was started by a country at the height of it's imperial powers and prosecuted by an army charged with the responsibility of implementing a policy known as Confederation - a proposal to unite various black and white factions in South Africa under British authority. Interviews, on-location footage and new geological surveys all help to reconstruct the conflicts and give insight into the tactics used in these epic battles.

Les Grandes Batailles is a series of historical television programs by Daniel Costelle, Jean-Louis Guillaud, and Henri de Turenne, broadcast on French television in the 1960s and 1970s, depicting the major battles of World War II, as well as the Nuremberg Trials. The project for the series actually began with an official government commission for a program on the Battle of Verdun in 1966. Ten other programs about World War II followed. The writers and producers of the series were Henri de Turenne and Jean-Louis Guillaud, both journalists. They entrusted the production of the series to the young director Daniel Costelle.

The Hero Ji Hong Chang

2015 Series

After the September 18 Incident of 1931, calls for resistance against Japan grew. Feng Yuxiang and Ji Hongchang, along with Wu Chengfang of the Communist Party, worked to form the Anti-Japanese Allied Army in Zhangjiakou. Ji, influenced by the Communists, joined the Party and became a leader of the Allied Army. The movement gained broad support, but Chiang Kai-shek and the Japanese launched a campaign against them. Despite the challenges, Ji Hongchang continued his efforts to resist Japanese aggression and save the nation.
