When legal methods prove only moderately effective, Lucky and his chums use more direct methods to drive Dawson and his ilk out of town.

Little Red Decides

1918 Movie

Upon learning that the parents of "Little Red" have died, the cowboys of Colonel Ferdinand Aliso's ranch adopt the boy. Parson Jones and his church committee protest that the child should be brought up in more refined surroundings, but the cowboys, particularly Duck Sing, Aliso's Chinese cook, are so enamored of Little Red that they donate their poker money to the church to placate the congregation. After Little Red catches pneumonia and nearly dies, however, Dr. Kirk insists that the boy either live with the minister or acquire a mother through the marriage of one of the cowboys. While Little Red is recuperating at the parson's home, ranch hand Tom Gilroy courts the only marriageable women in town -- a widow and two spinsters -- but much to his relief, they all turn him down. In the end, Duck Sing and the colonel join forces and legally adopt him.

Billy the Kid Outlawed

1940 Movie

In the first of the six films Bob Steele made in PRC's "Billy the Kid" series, gun law rules in Lincoln County, New Mexico in 1972, where Sam Daly and Pete Morgan operate a general store. Daly expects to be elected sheriff and he and Morgan intend to bring off a final big coup and then disappear. To further their plans, they have local ranchers such as the Bennett brothers killed. Billy Bonney and his friends Fuzzy Jones and Jeff Travis, driving a cattle herd and friends of the Bennetts,engage in a gun battle with the killers that frightens the stage horses. Billy gives chase and rescues Judge Fitzgerald and his daughter Molly. The judge has been sent by Washington's Department of Justice to take over the law enforcement in Lincoln County, but is murdered by the Daly/Morgan henchman. Sheriff Long deputizes Billy and his friends to bring in the killers, but Daly is elected sheriff, and promptly brands Billy, Jeff and Fuzzy as outlaws. A Daughter of the Sioux

U.S. Government surveyor John Field suspects Nanette, the adopted daughter of Cavalry-Major Webb, of being a spy and disclosing government secrets to the Sioux tribe, in their war against the whites. The Sioux attack and Field sees Nanette talking to an Indian, Eagle Wing during the attack. Field and Eagle Wing fight and the latter is killed. Field brings his body to the fort and Major Webb sees that it is long-lost black-sheep son who has turned renegade. Nanette then tells Field that she has been giving Eagle Wing money to keep him quiet and not disgracing her benefactor. Major Webb then reveals, in flashback, that Nanette is not a Sioux but a white girl kidnapped by the Sioux as an infant. Field then asks Nanette to marry him.

"Tough Luck" Baxter, returning from a prospecting trip, meets Happy Jack Clarke, a former citizen of Baxter City, a boom town which became a ghost town when the gold petered out. A game of cards decides that Clarke will go back to Baxter City with "Tough Luck" in search of ore. Meanwhile, the Firefly, a New York music hall entertainer out of a job, is ordered by her parasitic husband Bert Wilcox to perform at the dance hall in Baxter City. Upon her arrival, she finds the town deserted and strikes out on the open trail.
