Meerkat Manor is a British television programme produced by Oxford Scientific Films for Animal Planet International that premiered in September 2005 and ran for four series until its cancellation in August 2008. Blending more traditional animal documentary style footage with dramatic narration, the series told the story of the Whiskers, one of more than a dozen families of meerkats in the Kalahari Desert being studied as part of the Kalahari Meerkat Project, a long-term field study into the ecological causes and evolutionary consequences of the cooperative nature of meerkats. The original programme was narrated by Bill Nighy, with the narration redubbed by Mike Goldman for the Australian airings and Sean Astin for the American broadcasts. The fourth series, subtitled The Next Generation, saw Stockard Channing replacing Astin as the narrator in the American dubbing.

Wasted Waste

2018 Movie

This documentary is about individual lifestyles with conscious repercussions in the collective. Because from the Nature’s point of view there is no such thing as waste. It’s the symbiotic aspect of life. The whole Nature is a unified system of interdependent variables. Each one with a cause and reaction. Freeganism is an alternative lifestyle based on the boycott to capitalism, aiming to reduce the impact in our ecosystem, rejecting any form of human or animal exploitation. This is achieved through the limited and resource-conscious consumption, as well as the rescue of waste, in a society that produces above its needs.

Philippe-Alain Michaud, le réel traversé par la fiction

2016 Movie

To be in Venice and see the architecture of New York, to perceive in a painting by Tintoretto the birth of animated images, to look at the burlesque Cretinetti as the ancestor of montage - so many shifts, displacements, and striking telescopings that Philippe-Alain Michaud proposes in this film dedicated to him. To follow this art historian, curator of the cinema collections at the Centre Pompidou, is to go from the oriental carpet to the film, or from the first fireworks to the cinema. And everywhere the animation of the images - projections of Antony McCall, or of Paul Sharits, Column without end of Brancusi, Pasolini's Accatone - everything moves! Under the tutelage of Aby Warburg, the great art historian of the early twentieth century, precursor of iconology and image comparison, to whom Philippe-Alain Michaud was the first in France to devote an important essay, eleven images are placed on the table to describe the singular journey of this art historian.

Greg Mortimer: en busca de una tierra solidaria

2021 Movie

It is southern summer and a cruise is about to leave for Antarctica. Hours earlier, the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 pandemic. What seems to be the safest place in the world, becomes the worst nightmare of those who travel on the cruise when the first positive case is detected on board. Upon verifying the massive contagion inside the ship, all the countries refuse to receive it, except Uruguay. The country that had implemented an operation to repatriate thousands of citizens and resident migrants, was the only one that provided humanitarian aid to the Greg Mortimer cruise ship that, at the time of docking in the port of Montevideo, was collapsed by illness and anguish. A story where empathy, solidarity and organized action were key to containing the impacts of the disaster.
