April 9, 1940, an aircraft warns Norwegian merchant ships that German naval forces are heading for Norwegian waters. The pilot signals to a Norwegian-flagged ship that responds to shooting at the aircraft. The pilot is hurt but is able to land on the water. He is picked up by a Norwegian boat on his way to Kristiansand. Before he dies, he tells Captain Knut Viker and the governor Harald Bakken if this happened.

The Pearl Necklace

This film follows patients and staff during their treatment. It deals with what would now be called PTSD, but at the time was categorised as psychoneurosis or shell-shock. Government officials deemed this 1946 film counterproductive to postwar efforts; it was not shown publicly until 1981.

Facing the Enemy

The heart of this dramatic story based on the novel by Leopold Lahola is the search for the principle of humanism. The story plays in a single day towards the end of World War II in a rough, snow-covered landscape where a German soldier escorts his prisoner with orders to shoot him. The background of the story is formed by the flashbacks of the partisan soldier being interrogated by a Russian commissar who wants to know all about him being taken prisoner. The German soldier Helmut Kampen escorts the captive partisan who is condemned to death but finally manages to flee. The commissar wants to know why the Germans did not kill him and accuses the partisan soldier of collaboration
